No change there then, but how you develop them is now entirely up to you. Heroes Of Might And Magic IV, as the more intelligent among you will have guessed by now, is all about heroes and how you develop them. Did we yawn? Well, yes we did, but as always in these situations we pressed on in the hope that things would get better, and almost without us noticing, they did. You know the sort of thing: take your hero, ramble round the landscape, pick up a few units before plodding into battle, and pick up treasures, gold and items along the way before meandering into battle against various creatures guarding the better (ie useful) items and goodies. So you can imagine then, how we were less than impressed when the first couple of hours of gameplay appeared to present an almost identical gameplay experience to what was offered with Heroes III. The combat system in the game is very well developed and even beginners players will not have a problem (we have the option of automatic combat). Wandering through the world you will encounter many enemies with which you will have to face.

However, other endings were also taken in the game, such as gaining a certain amount of gold or other artifacts. The main goal of the game is to get all the castles and destroy all the 'heroes'. The game is set in the medieval fantasy world. In total there are six views of this game. The game started a successful series under the same title.
